The Project

A shared project

We want to create a group of around twelve persons (or more) that will meet several times in 2006-2007, to:

prepare an introduction underlying the problems of Georgia: presence of traditional values, consequences of the soviet past, invasion of the western modernity, very difficult economic situation…;

think on possible modifications on the translation of the Charter in Georgian;

contextualize each principle of the Charter in the present situation of Georgia, referring to the most important problems;

write comments linked to the principles;

get information on the existing initiatives around the Charter in different countries;

think on possible initiatives that could be undertaken in Georgia;

produce a new edition of the Georgian Charter;

publish a new edition of the Charter;

distribute the new Georgian version of the Charter: each member of this first working group will do it in his/her way, for example in her/his professional surroundings;

diffuse the Charter preferably in professional sectors: for example in a ministry, a university, a school, a children center, a students club, a café littéraire, an association (mentioning here only reachable examples), etc.

share the experiences on the Charter diffusion and launch new initiatives;

create and maintain international contacts.
