Methodology

The council first engaged in a discussion of the Charter. Based on this and on the local conditions, they made a plan on how they can exercise responsibilities as youth leaders.

They came up with a plan to educate children aged 5 to 8 on environmental responsibility. The educational program used leaves to teach children mathematical concepts. It also used film-showing to show the cooperation and struggle in the animal world. A field trip to a dam site and ecology center was undertaken to concretize the lessons.

The challenge is how to involve a greater number of young people in community building and in the promotion of environmental responsibility in a community wherein there is general apathy on community-wide activities.
