Mid-project report : Learnings

A. Children

The children realize that through natural resources they learn to take care of the environment, which is a gift from GOD. For example, the ocean, sea and waterfalls provide electricity in some parts of the Philippines. Natural resources are very important in our daily living. If we just take care of our environment then we will enjoy abundant resources and way of living. The Philippines is well known for its abundant resources and if we will not take care of this, we will the benefit from precious gifts needed for daily living.

B. Youth

MARIFE: Responsibility is also respect for oneself and the other person.

DIVINE: The things around us are given by GOD and we have to take care of it. If we take them for granted and abuse them, then God will take whatever he had given. Our brothers and sisters who are indigenous people like the Mangyans must be treated as family because they are all Filipinos.

CHRISTINE: We must take care of our natural resources for these are the things that help us in our everyday needs. Trees should not be cut-down indiscriminately and we should always take care of them. If we cut them, be sure to replace them, and I ask that people and youth must be a model to the younger generation in taking care of GOD’ gift.

JERRY: When we say natural resources, what I remember are the things GOD has given to us. The sea, ocean and rivers. Be responsible for it and take care.

BEBELYN: We have responsibilities to fulfill in our environment. We are a part of it. We should not just take it for granted. There are things we have to do in order to still enjoy GOD’ goodness.

MAGA: We must be strong, brave and courageous even if by ourselves. Like the animals, they manage and survive with enough strength and courage to fight all the opposing elements. They know what they should do about everything they face. They also care about the environment and natural resources.

C. Teacher Lyn

For me, after dealing with the children and youth about some topics, I also arrive with my own reflection. We have to take care of our natural resources because this is gift from GOD . We must not abuse the use of it; cutting the trees and consuming our other resources may bring scarcity. We must also be very responsible in using it for the future use of our next generation. We even have to take care of animals. We have to be responsible, strong, brave and courageous.
