Members of the Charter Facilitation Committee for the Pacific Region

The Committee Members are :

 Betsan Martin (Coordinator of the Regional Committee, member of the International Facilitation Committee)

 Maria Humphries – Professor of Management Studies and Ethics _ She works in Not-For-Profit management, ethics, human rights and responsibilities. Maria is active in the Third Sector, linking the Community sector with academic research. Maria and Betsan are colleagues in research and writing. Maria lives in Auckland.

 Te Kawehau Hoskins – Lecturer in Maori Education
She lives in Auckland and is a lecturer in Education with a special interest in Maori education. Te Kawehau is part of a collective who share an area of rural land where they grow organic produce and take part in shared responsibility for the land and the buildings as part of a commitment to sustainable living.

 Loudeen Parsons – Pacific Island Social researcher and organizer
She co-ordinates Pacific programmes from a community agency in the Wellington area. Loudeen is an associate with Taimalieutu Kiwi Tamasese, who has an advisory role relating to Pacific activities. This involves her and her associate Taimalie Kiwi Tamasese in local and national projects in New Zealand, increasingly in initiatives in Samoa, and in international networks. National and international work includes social policy research and advocacy, cultural responsibility, and professional teaching of new paradigms in therapy.

 Christine Brown – Resource teacher of Maori and community environmental participant
She teaches in the Christchurch area of the South Island. Christine specialises in support for the teaching of Maori language through creating resources to enable language revitalization. Christine does beautiful work in weaving. Along with an abundant home produce garden, she participates in environmental restoration projects, and in sport. She has 5 children still at home.

 Laura Beck – Laura is a young person working with the committee as much as her new apprenticeship on biodynamic farming will allow. Laura is trained as a lawyer, is active in the ’young Greens’ and has recently travelled extensively especially in Sth America.

(ii) Community - Developing new paradigms and practices in re-spiriting community, and the active sharing between generations, in taking responsibility for ourselves, our future, our relationship with earth, other species and land & water; and for continuing the celebration of the mystery and wonder that fill life with its meaningfulness;
(iii) Personal - To pursue that essence of personal responsibility, as sentient beings, with awareness of each other, our connection to all things, and the inevitability of being held to account in the universe, for our need to reconcile our shadow with our light.
